Dairyworld Foods is the processing and marketing unit of Agrifoods International Cooperative Ltd., which is owned by farmers in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. The deal means that Saputo will have from 25% to 30% of the domestic cheese and milk market and will see its revenue rise to $3.4 billion. Dairyworld has annual sales of $1.4 billion and employs about 3,200 people in 24 plants. Saputo operates 15 dairy products plants in the U.S. and 11 plants in Canada that funnel into 17 distribution centres.
