Sixteen girls were honoured. The Canada Cord is awarded to Pathfinder-age girls (12 to 14 years), who have completed the three-year program. The program consists of challenges with a focus on camping and outdoors, community service, life skills, relationship building, leadership development, environmental steward ship and citizenship both local and international. Girl Guides of Canada is beginning its second century as an organization. From the early days in 19 1 0 to the strong and vibrant organization of today, its mission is to en able girls to be confident, resourceful and courageous, and to make a difference in the world. In Oakville, there are more than 170 girls and more than 130 adult volunteers who participate. Everyone is welcome.
