Rugby is played by girls and boys and women and men of all ages and abili ties. Players representing 26 countries are members of the CRC. Since its founding in 1968, the club has developed many international players. The all-day festival recog nizes not only Canada's 150 years as a nation, but the sport of rugby's existence in Canada for 153 years. Rugby is played in 96 countries with more than 8.5 million taking part in schools Rock dom inates in MLS victory over Cobourg Brett Hickey scored four times and Rob Hellyer had nine points to lead the Oakville Rock to a 17-5 Major Series Lacrosse win over Cobourg last Monday. The Rock scored eight straight goals to break open a close game. Eric Fannell had a hat trick as the Rock took a 3-2 lead into the final minutes of the opening period. He set up Wesley Berg to ex tend the lead to 4-2 before the end of the first. The Rock carried the mom entum into the second as Berg and James Barclay scored in the opening minute of the period to make it 6-2. The goals kept coming for the Rock, with two from Hickey and one each from Dan Lomas, Jeremy Noble and Hellyer to Oakville's Crusaders Rugby Club is celebrating Canada 150 on Saturday when Crusaders Park will host a variety of special events. Fannell finished the game with three goals and two assists while Lomas and Berg each had two goals and four assists. Barclay and Matt Lee each scored twice and Hellyer had a goal and eight assists. Stephan Leblanc had four assists and Noble set up a pair of goals. Nick Rose earned the win, stopping 22 of 25 shots. Steve Fryer came on in relief mid way through the game and turned aside 15 of 17 shots.
