15 | Friday July 21, 2017 | OAKVILLE BEAVER |www.insidehalton.com The clinic that's looking to help in every way Metabolic Care Clinic started out small, but its recent expansion shows that the business has come a long way. The clinic, located at 2501 Third Line, Unit 17 in Oakville, used to serve the sole purpose of helping customers with nutrition. " I realized people needed more than nutrition," said Patsy Commisso, owner of Metabolic Care Clinic. She ex plained that a number of her patients deal with weight is sues and so along with nutrition, "they needed to exercise too, they needed a place to support those issues." Commisso moved her business to the current location and continued her work there. Just this year, she decided the clinic was still missing one more thing, a department to cope with stress. So she expanded the space and added another studio, " a wellness studio, so they can take their mind to the gym where we have mindful therapy, boxing yoga and wellness workshops," she said. "We have stress management, a relaxation lounge and a place where people can meditate." Although the clinic is available for both men and wom en, she explained that the programs mainly target women because they're usually the ones who seek out help for health. "We help a lot of women with hormonal changes in their life. When they hit around 40, sometimes things become more difficult to handle. This space helps women find a place they can learn to cope and manage, but still hit their health goals," said Commisso. Being a strong business in the Oakville community for 15 years now, she explained that the clinic has a really good handle on the service and is glad the clinic has trans formed to offer those three components in order to help empower people.
