The 27-year-old, who currently resides in Nairobi, Kenya, reached the summit at Mount Kilimanjaro on Canada Day, July 1, to celebrate the country' s 150th birthday -- while carrying the Canadian flag. Roblin spent a total of six days climbing to the top of the highest mountain in Africa, an idea she had since her first visit to East Africa in 2008. She travelled to Tanzania with five friends and began the trek on June 26. "A great experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a unique physical and mental challenge," said Roblin, who works for an e-commerce social enterprise start-up company. The first four days of the trek was hiked through four climate zones and the group of friends slept in tents, Roblin said.
