- Handwritten on the back of this photograph is: "Bank of Toronto at Hornby". The young man is likely the branch teller, perhaps reporting to the larger Bank of Toronto branch in Milton.
The Bank of Toronto was established in 1855. According to Wikipedia (in August 2017), the Bank quickly established a network of branches in Ontario (Canada West at the time) and beyond.
In 1955 the Bank of Toronto amalgamated with the Dominion Bank to become the Toronto-Dominion Bank. - Subject(s)
