Grant Crosbie Family Lounge A casino night fundraiser held at Le Dome in Oakville on June 22 raised more than $7,000 for the D. Grant Crosbie Family Lounge in support of caregivers at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. This event was well supported with generous do nations from local businesses and friends who con tributed gift cards, baskets and merchandise for the raffle prizes. Grant Crosbie passed away on Feb. 9, 2016 from Alzheimer' s disease. In his memory, the D. Grant Crosbie Family Tounge was established to provide a relaxing and comfortable place to help ease the stress on caregivers looking after their loved ones while in hospital. "The family lounge has been well used in the past year and we are still working hard to reach our goal of raising $100,000 for the hospital. We' ve raised just over $50,000 so far," said Karen Harrington, Grant' s widow, who created this event with the help of a team of volunteers. Fundraising efforts will continue online.
