The Town has announced that all its outdoor pool fa cilities will be open Mon day, Aug. 7 along with the Oakville Museum at 8 Navy St. The Emancipation Day Family Picnic, which com memorates Aug. 1, 1834 -- the day slavery was abolished in Canada and throughout the British Empire -- will take place Aug. 7 from 1-4 p.m. at the Oakville Museum. The event is free and will feature a number of fun activ ities, performances and music for the entire family. The Oakville Art Society will present the 52nd an nual Art in the Park Aug. 7 at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. The show runs from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and features more than 175 artists and artisans from across the country. Admission to Art in the Park is $5 for adults and free for children under 12. The Town is reminding residents that Town Hall, lo cal community centres, are nas, all indoor pools, seniors' centres, youth centres, the Oakville Centre for the Per forming Arts and the Kinoak Arena Skateboard Park will be closed Aug. 7.
