Justice Jennifer Anne Crawford was among five new appointees who will take on the role effective Aug. 31. She was assigned to Halton by Chief Justice Lise Maisonneuve. Crawford was called to the bar in 1997 and was most recently the designated highrisk offender Crown attorney for the Toron to region. Crawford has also volunteered with the Oakville parks and recreation committee and the Oakville Literacy Council. The remaining appointees to the Ontario court of justice include: · Justice Pieter Joubert to preside in Kenora; · Justices Karey Katzsch and Scott Nicho las Latimer to both preside in Kitchener; · Justice Ronald Cameron Blake Watson to preside in St. Catharines. Candidate applications for judge openings at the Ontario court of justice are reviewed by the independently-operated Judicial Ap pointments Advisory Committee. The group, formed in 1988, compiles a short list and interviews candidates. A ranked list of recommendations is then sent to the attorney general for appoint ments.
