LACKIE, Ella Francis (nee Watson) It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ella Francis Lackie (nee Watson) shares the news of her passing on August 21st, at the age of 79 years. With everlasting grace and beauty, Ella passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. The i On May 29, 2017, Dorrett passed away peacefully at Wyndham Manor ExtendiCare. Dorrett is survived by her sisters Celeste Bent and Llewella Campblin, nieces Gloria Davis, Christine Jackson, and Karen Campblin and nephews Michael Jackson, Brian Campblin and Gary Bent. Dorrett was born and raised in Jamaica W.I. To pursue a career in nursing, Dorrett went overseas to Gloster, England where she received her Registered Nurse and OB/GYN specialist certifications. Dorrett returned to Jamaica and worked at the University of the West Indies Hospital for two years before moving to Canada. She worked in Thunder Bay, London and Kirkland Lake before moving to Oakville. She loved the community and settled here, working at OTMH from which she retired after 25 years. Throughout her career Dorrett was passionately dedicated to providing the highest quality care to her patients, always with a smile and words of encouragement. Like the postman, neither rain, nor storm, nor multiple feet of snow would keep her from reporting for duty. Dorrett's hobbies were gardening, sewing and needlepoint, with gardening being her absolute favourite. She was an active member of St Jude's Garden Guild for many years.
