Friday, April 28, 2000 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER 29 Foodbank donation is fee for local guitar workshop Doyle Dykes, a Tennessee-based acoustic guitarist will be conducting an acoustic guitar workshop at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3rd at the Merriam School of Music (MSM), 2359 Bristol Circle. Dykes, who has become a frequent guest of the Grand Ole Opry, will share his talent at this workshop/miniconcert for intermediate to advanced players. His workshop will include fingerpicking and "chiming" techniques, "tricks 'n' licks," alternate tunings, and his own unique right-hand dynamics. Dykes' talent led him to a special installment of Grand Ole Opry Live where he played with guitar legends Duane Eddy and Chet Atkins along with Jimmy Capps, Leon Rhodes and Spider Wilson. During a special Chat with Chet session, someone suggested that Atkins had "the fastest right hand ever." Atkins replied, "Have you heard Doyle Dykes lately?"
