On New Year's Eve, not once but twice, school children in downtown Oakville will proudly hold high their beacons, a unifying symbol of hope and renewal. Starting at 6:30 p.m. with a "Walk of Honour," as veterans and children walk in unison, young and old alike will line Lakeshore as the festivities begin.
