A team from the Oakville Fire Department came out on top - for the second straight year - after competing against some of the strongest firefighters the country had to offer at the National Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge Championships, which took place in Ottawa earlier this month. Local firefighters walked away with multiple victories, including firefighter Ian Van Reenen who was first in the men's individual competition. He also joined Darren van Zandbergen, Shaun Henderson, Matt Longwell and Dave Walker to win the team competition. The team had similar victories at last year's nationals, and went on to set two records at the worlds in Montgomery, Ala.
