What' s the differ ence? iliifL u Lisa Frauley, Oakville A - Prefinished flooring has a durable penetrating sealer applied to it at the factory, therefore, the mess is not done in your home. However, you must be cautious when you have spills on it because the joints between prefinished planks do not provide a completely sealed top surface compared to unfin ished floors which are sanded, stained, and coated with multiple coats of ure thane, therefore, totally sealed.
