The original destination was set to be Mi ami, Fla., but due to the threat of Hurricane Irma, the riders were re-routed at the last min ute to Austin, Texas, just 4 8 hours before the event. A large crowd of family members and friends of the cyclists greeted the cyclists upon completion of the ride in Austin, along with a group of Wellspring Warriors, whose members served as inspiration for the cyclists throughout their journey. Each warrior is an individual who is cur rently facing cancer or who has had a cancer experience in their past. All cyclists participating in the ride were challenged with raising a minimum $ 1 0 ,0 0 0 , and many exceeded their fundraising goal. The Wellspring Ride for Cancer Support, held annually, has raised more than $ 2 .7 mil lion to help Wellspring continue to provide cancer support programs, led by accredited professionals, without cost to the individual or family member living with cancer. The event, which goes from 5-9 p.m., will be held at Oakville Trafalgar (OTMH) Memorial Hospital in the John Oliver Auditorium. BRA Day is a free event that invites women with breast cancer to learn about breast recon struction options and to connect with women who have been through the experience.
