Bronte Village Stakeholders Coat Drive is accepting donations of gently-used and clean winter outer wear in all sizes for men, women and children -- until Friday, Oct. 13. The Coat Distribution Event is Saturday, Oct. 14, at St. Dominic' s School, 2405 Rebecca St. Clients of numerous service agencies are invited: including: Fare Share Food Bank, Halton Multicul tural Council, Kerr Street Mission, SAVIS, Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre and local churches. Invitees can attend between 9 a.m. and noon; while the general public is welcome between noon and 3 p.m. A limit of one coat/jacket per person applies. There are also many women' s and men' s coats and jackets. The coat drive has been in the works since Au gust and involves donors as well as the Oakville Fire Department, Bronte Station. In 2010, a group of local stakeholders/outreach groups from local churches and agencies, including local councillors, gathered to find out how to assist gaps in local services in Bronte community.
