Elliot stopped all 25 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season and second of his Ontario Junior Hockey League career. It was the Blades' fourth win in a row and their third in three days following a sweep of a home-and-home series against Burl ington. The shutout dropped Elliot's goals-against average to 1.95, the third-best mark in the OJHL, while raising his save percentage to .941, which ranks second. Hayami began a three-game scoring streak Friday with a goal that also proved to be the game-winner. His second-period goal broke a 2-2 tie after the Cougars had rallied to erase a 2-0 Oakville advantage. Jacob Buch and Anthony Aguanno had staked the Blades to the two-goal lead in the first four minutes of the game, but Burling ton fought back to even the score. In addition establishing marks for most points, most tries and largest margin of victory for the third week in a row, the Bruins also set a new mark for wins in a season as they improved to 3-0. After a slow start that saw Sheridan score just once -- a try by J.P. Munro -- in the opening 20 minutes, the Bruins extended their lead to 21-0 at the half as Brandon Roberts and Justin Tota scored. All three tries were converted by Jad Hamade. "I think the boys were just a little bit over-con fident today," said Sheridan coach Rick Bria. "We worked hard in practice, we worked on a lot of things, but unfortunately with young athletes con fidence can be a pretty fine line. You want to build Sheridan men's rugby team is on a roll them up, but you also want them to have a hunger to prove themselves at the same time." Sheridan wasted little time putting the game away in the second half as Matt DaCosta and Andrew Zandona scored tries in the first two minutes. DaCosta finished with a game-high 12 points with two tries and a convert. He now has 24 points to share the team lead with Owen Schimpl, who also scored a try against Conestoga. Sheridan will look to continue its winning streak as it hosts Mohawk today (Thursday) at the Trafal gar Road campus at 4 p.m. "We take one step at a time, one game at a time, and one win at a time," Bria said. "We're pretty close to securing a playoff spot, but that's not enough for us. We know that we have the talent to be a con tender, and that's our goal." -- Sheiidan Bruins Reduce Reuse Recycle First-step quickness Reaction skills Puck control Power & acceleration Explosiveness Puckwork implemented throughout the program lt ftH STIC##* An excellent studentto-instructor ratio NOV - JAN TIMESLOTS: AGE & LEVELS DAYS TIMES PRICE N O T IC E B ria n A .
