Monetary donations are also appreciated and charity tax receipts can be written immediately. Organizers say the food bank is in desperate need of: baby cereal (Pablum); powdered baby formula; and junior baby food jars of meat, fruit and vegetables. It has also, for the first time in memory, run out of basics such as canned corn, peas, mixed vegetables and fruit. It also needs canned meat and fish, jam, tea bags, instant coffee and powdered laundry detergent. The food bank receives no funding from any level of government and relies completely on community donations.
