McCusker H e 's had his share of bumps and bruises, broken bones even, but Bob Gilbert has emerged a champion. For two consecutive years, the 35-yearold street stock racer,has earned the points championship at Flamboro Speedway in the street stock division. The most amaz ing part of the story is that his rise to the top has come within four short years. "The first year, we weren't anywhere in the points race and the second year, we had engine problems the whole year," said (See 'Gilbert' page D4) Two unidentified Bruins soar skyward to nab this rebound in Bruins Bash tourney action from the week end. The Bruins lost this opening round game78-74 to Edward Monpetit but then went on to collect gold. What a It wasn't easy but the Sheridan Bruins men's basket ball team managed to win the 8th annual Bruins Bash at JM Porter Gym in Oakville this past weekend. The Bruins had to come from behind late to beat St. Lawrence (Kingston) 97-90 in the gold medal game. Sheridan had control of things early, leading 46-39 at the break and seemed in control. But the Vikings never went away and took a 78-77 lead (S ee 'Bruins' page D3) PURSUITS Oakville Trafalgar's Andrew Peebles (#26) and an unidentified teammate are in hot pursuit in senior high school division two football action last Friday.
