"I just want to extend a very special thanks to our beloved veterans. For the tremendous sacri fices you have made and that continue to be made in the name of freedom," said Kristin Courtney, Access Abilities founder. "You fill this hall with honour and dignity and pride that touches our hearts and lives. We are forever impacted by your tremendous sacrifices in the most beautiful way. We enjoy peace and freedom. We know a tremen dous price was paid for that." Those present also heard from Canadian Forces Col. Daniel Stepaniuk who called the vet erans present true heroes and treasures whom members of the public should take the time to get to know. "Some of you have lost friends, some of you carry scars and some of your scars are invisible. You have seen things nobody should have to see and you have helped people nobody else could help," said Stepaniuk. "But wherever you are now, whatever you do, whoever you are with... you are a veteran. That means you are part of a very big family and you are part of my family. Thank you for your ser vice.
