The locally-based The W eather Network, a di vision of Pelmorex Media Inc., released its 2 0 1 7 winter forecast Monday, Nov. 20, predicting plenty of shovelling, icy windshields and delayed commutes for residents this year. "W e are going to see more numerous winter storms then really the last two seasons. W e've gotten off pretty easy," said Weather Network Meteorologist Doug Gillham. "Some of those will be messy. Not just snow." While there is expected to be above average snowfall there is also the threat of freezing rain at times. Gillham noted the approaching winter weath er pattern is similar to the one that hit the area in the winter of 2 0 0 7 /2 0 0 8 , which brought Toronto Pearson International Airport its snowiest winter on record. see Snow on p.7 S a n t a is in t o w n P age 6 SAUNDERS, SAXTO N & W IN TER W endy Saunders 1 JOHNSTON &DANIEL A DIVISION OF ROYAL L e PAGE R E AL ESTATE SERVICES LTD., BROKERAGE K im S a x to n Sales Representative Ruth Anne W inter Broker 136 Church Street, Suite 4A - Oakville, O N |905.845.1223 ssw te a m .ca | ssw te a m @ jo h n sto n a n d d a n ie l.co m Sales Representative 8 8 D u n n S tre e t | S u ite 201 2 $ 4 9 9 ,9 0 0
