Twenty players from Oakville Soccer Club | earn selection to Provincial Projects progjram Twenty players from the Oakville Soccer Clubs Ontario Player Devel opment League (OPDL) have been selected for the Ontario Soccer 2018 Provincial Projects program. The players selected were all born in 2003 or 2004. The program is available to all On tario Soccer-registered players com peting in the under-14, U15 or U16 age groups. (Jan. 13-14, Feb. 24-25 and March 24-25), a preparation weekend (April 21-22) and one Inter-Provincial Teams competition (April 27-29). Canada Soccer scouts will attend the Inter-Provincial competition in April with possible invites to Na tional Excel Environments events following. The provincial program focuses on player screening, talent identifi cation and benchmarking of players through competitions. "This is a tremendous honour for our players," Dave Harris, OSC exec utive director, said of the selections. "We wish them all the best in mov ing to the next level." Chris Grierson, OSC' s senior tech nical director, said the selection is a huge achievement for each of the players. "Each player will have an oppor tunity to showcase their skills among other players in front of provincial scouts and coaches," he said. "Well done to all the coaching staff at OSC for their dedication and commitment to player development."
