Cooper topped her in­ door personal best on four of her six jumps in the midget girls' triple jump, with a best of 10.90 metres. That added half a metre to her personal record and moved her to sev­ enth in the national rank­ ings for her age group. She also won bronze in the long jump. Though her leap of 4.69 metres wasn't the longest, she was the most consistent as the only com­ petitor to top 4.5 metres four times. Her silver medal came in the midget girls' medley re­ lay, teaming up with Jenna James, Caitlyn Thompson and Breanna Clemens. The relay gold went to the Oakville Legion team of Charlotte Stewart, Thi- Anne Hillyard, Lucy Edgar and Frieda Piepp, who fin­ ished in a time of four min­ utes and 17.55 seconds. Breagha Sharpe, 14, took more than two minutes off her personal best to take gold in the junior girls' 1,500- metre race walk. Her time of 8:13.45 is ranked first in Can­ ada and second all-time for her age. Clemens added to her re­ lay silver with a gold medal in the midget girls' 2,000-me­ tre with a time of 7:57.43. Oakville Legion's Adam Dampier earned a gold med­ al in the atom boys' 300-me- tre, finishing at 47.16 sec­ onds. Athletiques' Thompson earned a second silver in at­ om girls' long jump. Her jump of 4.05 metres was just nine centimetres out of first. Oakville Legion's Riley Flemington picked up a sil­ ver in the bantam boys' 300- metre with a time of 40.07 seconds. Keelan Hopley finished the tyke girls' 800-metre in a time of 3:01.74 to edge her Oakville Legion teammate Liza Izotova by 3/100ths of a second for the bronze medal. The Oakville Legion re­ lay team of Stewart, Allegra Constanza, Sara Distefano and Lucy Edgar won a bronze medal in the midget girls' four-by-200-metre re­ lay.
