Town of Oakville looking for new crossing guards The Town of Oakville is looking for residents inter­ ested in serving the chil­ dren of their community as school crossing guards. In a job posting, issued by the town earlier this month, town staff noted they were looking to fill part-time crossing guard positions between now and the end of the school year, June 30. The number of positions available is not specified. The job would require successful applicants to as­ sist elementary schoolchil­ dren in crossing safely at designated school crossing locations in accordance with the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, the Occupation­ al Health and Safety Act and local guidelines. Applicants must have a good sense of judgment to be able to determine when it is safe to enter the traffic flow.
