Offer expires December 31/99 Beware of bogus Child Find canvassers Child Find Ontario uiges resi dents to be wary of door-to-door solic itations currently taking place in the Oakville and Halton areas requesting dona tions in support of Child Find. Child Find has received numerous phone calls from people who, in response to such an appeal, believed they were making a donation to Child Find Ontario. A 15-year-old registered charity, Child Find Ontario relies upon contri butions from fami lies, corporations, groups, and foun dations. However, Child Find Ontario is not conducting door- to-door solicita tions in the area. Child Find Ontario helps in the search for missing and abducted children and works to reduce the inci dence of missing children and teenagers. This year, over 10,000 children across Ontario were fin ger-printed, free of charge, at Child Find's KidCheck ID sessions. There are 23 chapters of Child Find across Ontario, supported by over 1,000 trained and police- screen volunteers, and the provincial head office is located in Oakville. For more infor mation about Child Find programs, call 905-842-5353.
