In 1997 the Town of Oakville in co operation with the Conservation Halton completed a review of all Town owned shoreline properties and prioritized these sites in a ten year forecast. The Front Street Parkette along with the adjacent Dingle Park section of shoreline was considered a high priority rehabilitation site and funding for this project was approved by Town Council in 1999.
