A 10-year reunion is planned covering the years 1965 to 1975. Preparations under w ay to hold B lakelock reunion in July Calling all graduates of T. A. Blakelock High School from 1965 to 1975. A 30th annual reunion is being planned in July 2000. But rather than focus on just one year, 1970, it was decided to celebrate a decade of gradu ates. Spearheading the organi zation of this reunion is Gail (Rodgers) Jefferies, a 1970 graduate who had noticed some interest in such a gath ering in email addressed to the school's web page. "About a year ago I dis covered this web site and found a few messages expressing interest in a reunion, so in February I placed a message myself," said Jefferies. "Then I got an email from Alan Ducharme, who now lives in Switzerland, saying he was coming home to Oakville for a month next summer, 'so why don't we organize a pub night in downtown Oakville to cele brate the year 2000?'" It was the response she needed to set the organiza tion of a two-day, 10-year reunion in motion. She organized a planning meeting at the Bearded Collie in July, "which turned out to be a mini-reunion," said Jefferies. About 24 peo ple came, including four retired teachers - Gerry Kehy, football coach and English teacher; Harvey Sheppard, history; John Harrison, German and French; and Morgan Perigo, math teacher." A follow-up meeting was held, "and there was so much interest it was decided to go ahead and plan the larger event." Memorabilia from each year will be on display at the pub night and couples' event. Jefferies is looking for both memorabilia and year captains. She already has volunteers for 1969, 1970 and 1971, so she needs peo ple for 1965 to 1968, and from 1972 to 1975. Memorabilia for display can include anything from football jackets to old school gym clothes, old magazines from that decade, year books, awards, bath tub race materials, old cheer leading uniforms, sports uniforms, graduation ceremonies pro grams, "and if you dare, old report cards," says Jefferies. A small committee is helping her organize this event, which includes Ducharme of Switzerland (email: aducharme@beck- man.com), John Merrifield of Calgary (email: merri- field@msn.com); Dave McCleary (email: m ccleary @ w chat-on.ca); Ted De Wildt (P.O.
