They hosted a reception on Saturday to thank all those who sup ported them through this difficult time. Lindsay suffered from Neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood can cer. McCusker Harvest Festival at Christian school Residents are invited to the Oakville Christian School's annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 2nd from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school at 112 Third Line. Included with the $2 admission will be pony rides, sack races, hair twist ing, face painting, high strikers, a giant slide, ReMax hot air balloon (weather permitting), classic car display, and fish pond. A barbecue lunch, hamburger or hot dog, drink, cotton candy and popcorn, costs $2. A pumpkin patch, scarecrow making, and Indian com will also be available. The first two years following a remarriage with children is known to be an extreme ly difficult time for people and many relation ships do not make it past this benchmark. This work shop will work towards develop ing an under standing of how the step-family differs from the biological family. It will look at the practical aspects of remar riage with chil dren and the chal lenges unique to step-families. It will teach how to develop positive r e l a t i o n s h i p s between step-par ents and step children. The format will be a mix of lecture and small group discussion, where individual problems will be addressed. The instructor is Blythe Ward, a family counsel lor. The course is being offered at the Oakville- Parent Child Centre, 341 Kerr St., on Tuesdays, Oct. 5th and 12th, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The fee for the course if $50 per couple.
