The "Birds of Bronte" Live Birds of Prey dis play highlights two days of fun and educational activities for the whole family designed to pro mote a better appreciation of birds. The display will be open Aug. 21 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Nature Centre located near parking lot C next to the children's play bam. There will also be night hikes taking place Aug. 21 and 22 from 8:30 to 9:45 p.m. with Nature Centre staff. Pre-registration for the hikes is required. Visitors will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with several species of birds of prey, such as hawks and owls. Guests can learn three different owl calls then get a chance to use them during the night hikes. "I am always amazed by the things I learn when I visit the Nature Centre," says Park Clerk Jean-Paul Arbour. 'Their events are always infor mative and always fun. You realize how much you've learned when you watch Jeopardy." Bronte Creek Provincial Park is an important refuge for birds migrating through the Golden Horseshoe. The level of urban development in Southern Ontario makes natural areas like the park critical for birds' nesting, migrating and overall survival. Bronte Creek Provincial Park is located on Burloak Drive (north from exit 109 off the QEW) and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Model search at Oakville Place Thursday Oakville Place plays host to the Elite Model Search this Thursday in Centre Court from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Interested candidates can pick up an entry form at the Concierge Kiosk, located on the mail's lower level, which must be completed and brought to the open call between 4 and 6 p.m. The shopping centre was selected as one of 17 Canadian locations for the annual live event.
