COMMUNITY Family Day festivities around town There's no shortage of Family Day activities to choose from in Oakville this year. Far from it. The Town of Oakville has hundreds of Make Your Move Family Day activities planned at facilities across the community on Monday, Feb. 19. Participants can take part in a variety of classes including volley­ ball, karate and yoga or learn about local history at the Oakville Museum. Families can also enjoy storytime at select Oak­ ville Public Library branches, get their picture taken on a Zamboni at Riv­ er Oaks and Glen Abbey community centres and Joshua Creek Arenas and be entertained by the Toy- land Puppets with a Touch of Magic Show at Queen Elizabeth Park Communi­ ty and Cultural Centre. Free swimming and skating lessons will also be available, while the Oak­ ville Blades host the Georgetown Raiders at 1:30 p.m. at Sixteen Mile Creek Sports Complex. The Town of Oakville, the Oakville Chinese Busi­ ness Association and Oak­ ville Chinese Network will jointly host a Chinese New Year reception in the south atrium of town hall (1225 Trafalgar Rd.) on Monday, Feb. 19 from noon to 2 p.m. The event will feature the traditional eye-dotting and lion dance, various per­ formances at light refresh­ ments.
