COMMUNITY Colourful calendar supports Fare Share The St. Ignatius ofLoyola Secondary School students have proven once again the meaningful impact the stroke of a paintbrush can have on their community. Art students concentrat­ ed their efforts in producing a calendar, which they sold in support of the Fare Share Food Bank. Overall, they raised more than $1,650 for the local not-for-profit orga­ nization that is dedicated to providing food for those in need. The calendars as well as the students' art work was recently on display at the Oakville school's annual art show, Feb. 8. All You Need is Love and Other Lies will be at the Queen Elizabeth Park Com­ munity and Cultural Cen­ tre's (QEPCCC) Black Box Theatre, 2303 Bridge Rd., at 8 p.m. Feb. 16,17 and 18. Oakville Improv Thea­ tre Company presents the show, which tackles every­ thing from daters, lovers, scoundrels, pretenders, husbands and wives. It sends up everything from Shakespeare to Tinder, with stops in Oakville, out­ er space and Westeros. It also stars Amy McKenzie, Duncan McKen­ zie, Paul Muhleisen, Luisa Muhleisen, Gary Pearson, Christine Pillman, David Raitt and Terri Skov. Musi­ cal director is Adam Benja­ min and Gary Pearson is the director. Show organizers say the show is adult content and alcohol will be served. Hall, appeared regularly on 22 Minutes and became a cast anchor in October 2007, for which she won a Gemini award. Other tele­ vision appearances include the Rick Mercer Report and numerous commercials. She is currently developing a show called Perverts Anonymous, which won best comedy in the UK Web- fest in 2017. Pearson is a comedy writer known for Mad TV, Corner Gas, 22 Minutes, That's So Weird and Sunny- side, and improviser on The Chumps, CBC Radio, and he has written three comic novels.
