Variety at art camp Creative Kids, a weekly summer art pro­ gram for chil­ dren ages 5 to 13, is still going on in the air- conditioned north building cafeteria at Erindale Col­ lege, the Missis­ sauga campus of the University of Toronto. The program, designed to give young artists a taste of art out­ side the class­ room setting, has been running weekly sessions since the begin­ ning of July, which will end the week of Aug. 23rd. Parents and their artists can choose either morning (9 a.m. to noon) or after­ noon (2 to 5 p.m.) sessions in whatever week(s) they prefer. A differ­ ent theme is fea­ tured each week. Themes for the sessions include cartoon­ ing, dinosaurs and reptiles, painting, print- making, photog­ raphy, paper mania, sculpture, and drawing. Students will explore different techniques and use a variety of media through­ out each theme week. Instructors in the Creative Kids program all have previous teaching experi­ ence and are graduates of or currently enrolled in the Erindale College Art and Art His­ tory Program. The weekly fee is $75 per child, which includes all materials, snacks and instruction. For an addi­ tional fee, both morning and afternoon extended care is available.
