Milton‘s Angel Villeneuveâ€"Steadman was reported missing at 7:30 p.m. on April 3 after her canoe capsized on Pigeon Lake. On Saturday, the OPP announced that her body was recov ered from the lake by the Kawatha Lakes OPP Marine Unit. Kawartha Lakes OPP _ conducted an exhaustive search, including a ground search by the Emergency Re sponse Team, a water search by the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and a search from the air with their Aviation Services. On April 12, the search for Villeneuveâ€" Steadman, who attended Grade 9 at Milton District High School and also went to E.C. Drury High School, was suspended. OPP say three people had set out at approximately 5 p.m. on April 3 to reâ€" trieve a pedal boat that had drifted from shore. The canoe flipped and only one of the three â€" a 19â€"yearâ€" old man â€" made it back to shore. No one was wearing a lifeâ€"jacket. The teen was identined in a post linked to a GoFundMe campaign as Milton resident Jonathan Nevins, who reportedly attempted to save Villeneuveâ€"Steadman. Police began their search that eveâ€" ning, using the boat launch at Victoâ€" ria Place as a base. The body of 23â€"yearâ€"old Spencer Dunn of Scarborough was recovered on April 5.
