Weekend grass fires keep Milton fire crews busy By Julle Slack CANADIAN CHAMPION STAFF in what‘s almost become a rite of spring along railway tracks in Milton, another series of grass hres kept fire crews busy this past weekend. Last Friday‘s fire, which started at 3:30 p.m., and took up approximately 10 kilometres along the west side of the CN tracks, from L FREE 10 Lower Base Line to Market Drive took up the most manpower hours â€" 92, according to Milton Fire Department (MFD) Deputy Chief Dave Pratt. Some 39 staff attended, along with 12 trucks.
