Issues to be discussed include expansion of urban area boundaries and water and sewer servicing. The preliminary findings of the Halton Urban Structure Review (HUSR) suggests that there is pressure to accommodate 80,000 to 100,000 people in new urban areas in Halton by the year 2011. While the existing urban envelopes can accommodate some of the growth, there is a need to designate additional lands for urban growth. "You must realize there is life after â€" that one can and does recover from real tragedy." The good news is, ‘There is life after,‘ Brown pointed out, a recurâ€" ring notion in Christianity. Christians believe there is a spiritual life after death. He spoke again in terms of relaâ€" tionships; the good ones were "enriching and lifeâ€"affirming," he said. Poor relationships, however, were destructive and deeply hurtful. "In the best of all possible worlds, these things wouldn‘t hapâ€" pen," he said, "but they do happen and you carry the pain of it all your life." He said he was deeply "woundâ€" edâ€tvheq his marriage fell apart. "I like it very much," he said. "I like the people. I like good worship. I enjoy preaching and pastoral work but mainly," he added with a grin, "I simply like working with peoâ€" ple." For 18 years, Brown formed his ministry in the Canadian west, much of it happily with his wife and three daughters. Certainly, Brown seems well suited to his calling. "I deplore violence," he said, "for the sake of violence." Technology in the church? "By all means," Brown said, "if technology will help, use it." "They generally let me sing the melody," he said playfully. As a lad, he played the flute, and the flugelâ€" horn, and tennis. SIMPLE PLEASURES These days, he said, his pleaâ€" sures are simple. He reads widely, enjoys the theatre and movies (notably films of quality which deal with realistic human relationships in depth). Bill remarried after coming to Oakville. His wife Nancy is a nurse. "I minister to people â€" but they minister far more to me." He is a man with a gift (quite apart from his singing voice) â€" a gift of experience and compassion. And he is gifted.
