Bell said GARA‘s priority is to see that the Capital Expenditure Forecast The estimated student enrolment of the proposed school, according to Bell, will be 1,341 by 1997 and 1,410 by 1998 which is over 100% of the Ministry of Education‘s rated capacity. The estimated cost of the Glen Abbey high school is $24.5â€"million with the local share of the cost being $13.2â€" million, Bell said. The cost of the site is $3.6â€"million; the building $18.6â€"million; and the furniture and equipment $2.3â€" million. If approved, the school is slated to be built in 1997. ‘"There is likely to be jockeying for position at that board meeting as trustees try to have their area moved up on the priority list," Brian Bell,; schools and churches chair, told the GARA board at their monthly meeting Monday night. GARA will make a presentation to the Halton Board of Education at their board meeting on Nov. 11th, in support of retaining a Glen Abbey high school as seventh out of ten priority in the board‘s 1994 capital expenditure foreâ€" cast for 1995 to 1999. Buchanâ€"Terrell can be reached at 847â€"8793. Buchanâ€"Terrell warned the Glen Abbey trail system will become more of a liability than an asset as it is "quickly deteriorating" and, over time, it will be costly for the Town "to bring the green areas back to an acceptable standard". In a report to the board, Buchanâ€" Terrell said "The Town has been getting a free ride on Glen Abbey green area cleanâ€"up over the years." He added the Town makes a "token contribution of gloves and bags" to the event. the community and by seeking sponsorâ€" ship for supplies such as gloves and bags. Next year, he hopes to increase parâ€" ticipation by involving major groups in Buchanâ€"Terrell said Pitchâ€"In ©93 â€" a one day volunteer cleanâ€"up of Glen Abbey trails and parks â€" was a "failure" because too few people participated. "Once that happens," he added, "then we should actively pursue our school site interest and keep it data drivâ€" en and not in the political arena." PITCHâ€"IN 94 Parks and Recreation chair, Grant Buchanâ€"Terrell, reported he has recruitâ€" ed residents Joe Baylis and Paul Parisotto to help him organize GARA Pitchâ€"in ©94 in May. 1=#2 I with 4 3 6â€"PACK OF COKE I COUPON OFFER ¢ 9\1-7-"' y$ _ 2 ibs of _ Gino‘s wings sA â€" 4 _ OF COKE Couron ofrER ONIY!
