Players making the Eastâ€"West select team will join fellow Canadian players for preâ€"trip training in Vero Beach, Florida, where the L. A. Dodgers are training. All players will receive evaluation from the Doyle Baseball and East West staff coaches, as well as information about the internaâ€" tional baseball programs which will feature trips to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Europe and the United States. There are three levels of competition, ranging all the way up to select. All participants are required to bring their own equipment (gloves, bats, water, etc.) as well as an administrative fee of $35. Another feature of Mountsberg is the boardwalk and nature paths that wind through the wooded conservation area. On a sunny day, it is a terrific place to go for a walk and explore. This program runs from Tuesday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. Mountsberg Conservation Area: Feb. 27th to April 10th â€" Maple Syrup Days, Campbellville. The wagon takes you from the Visitors Centre (with wildlife displays) to the sugarbush. Here, you will find a marked path leading past the tapped maple trees with buckets full of sap. Next, on the path is a roaring fire with large iron kettles of boiling syrup and displays on the Indian and Pioneer methods of making syrup. Further down the walkway are several log cabins. Various maple syrup prodâ€" ucts are sold in one, another has a demonstration of the modern methâ€" ods of syrupâ€"making, and the third cabin has a demonstration of how to make maple sugar candy with lots of free samples! A family outing to one of the conservation areas with a maple syrup demonstration is a great way to spend a spring day.
