Quantity Surveyors % Construction Cost Consultants 50 Port Street East, | Mississauga, Ontario L5G 1C1 | (905) 891â€"3432 ‘ e The contractor we hired to build an e addition, destroyed our driveway with his machinery, can we make him replace it? A ® property during the course of his work, including | ©@ any damage to your neighbours property, the conâ€" tractor is responsible to make it right . It is very important to take photographs of the work area and access route before, during and after the contractor has worked, this will help to | quantify the extent of any damage. Although the Lien funds are held to pay suppliers or subtrades [ that may lien your property, the money can be used after 45 [ days to repair the deficiencies or damages the contractor has | left behind if there are no liens. The standard construction conâ€" , tract states "If the owner and contractor cannot agree on the | value of the defective work, then an independent valuation will | be performed by an appointee of the Canadian Institute of | Quantity Surveyors.‘" If you would like a free brochure on how to select a contractor, phone or write us and we will gladly mail one to you. The pain seems to move around. Which part of my body should I have treated first, and should I go for treatâ€" ment only when the pain is really bad? I would suggest that you have your whole ® body assessed and freated, at the same ® _ time. Some physiotherapist will specialize in whole body treatment, which in my opinion will help you to locate the root of the problem and have more lasting effect. I tent to work on fascial tension. The fascia is a fibrous membrane which envelops your muscles, bones (inc. vertibraes), nerves, vessels and organs. In other words, the fascia connects all body parts togethâ€" er, therefore, explaining why pain in one area may be related to disturbances elsewhere in the body. Other useful techniques are cranioâ€"sacral therapy, strainâ€"counter strain, meridian therapy (E work such as acupuncture with or without needlsg and so on. Personally I will see my patient at any stage of the pain (from very acute to pain free), the assessment will reveal disturbances if there are any, even if that day the patient is painfree. I this answers your question. Take care of your health, it‘s very precious. John Smith Waste Reduction Coâ€"ordinator $25â€"6000 Does Halton landfill landfill the Recyclable Materials callecta{; 4kE No. All eleven materials listed in Halton‘s program are recycled. Why won‘t they collect my margarine and other plastics tubs, even thou%h t;t/ey have the HDPE symbol on them? We can only take HDPE bottles at this time. We have been told that the bottles, and tubs are made through different processes. I put materials in a cardboard box and they emptied it and left the cardboard box behind â€" Why? Some residents use cardboard boxes for recyclin, containers. Therefore unless the box is flattened, and no larger than 76 cm x 76cm x 20cm (30" x30" x8"), they will leave it behind for reuse. Now that you‘ve gone to once every two week colâ€" lection, I need another Blue Box. Your local hardware store, such as Beaver Lumber, may carry the Blue Boxes. However, you can use any container that is about the same size as a Blue Box, such as a laundry hamper or cardboard box. My Blue Box is overflowing. How can I make more room? > iO > O »> iO > O > iO Bundle and place ucts outside your Blue Box. As usual negative news abounds and newspaâ€" | ® pers sell and markets react â€" up and down, | ® what does our common sense tell us? a) Interest rates have enjoyed their down cycle and are | now heading up. Hopefully slowly. b) Corporate earnings are rebounding. c) Stock prices are fluctuating â€" neutral to negative for | now. d) There is a shortage of capital. Look at China, some 1.2 billion people who need food, shelter and clothâ€" | ing++. And what about Latin America? Now, after the previous 18â€"20 months of tremendous perâ€" formance we should expect the market to rest? But of | course emotions strongly suggest that this is not a result but rather a possible heart attack. Result? Assets ie. shares/businesses are being sold at the current discount (lower price), only to be bought by the astute Buffetâ€"type investors. I‘m sure you‘ve heard that | before. What to do? If you have a balanced portfolio with good businesses, it will rebound like a tennis ball and not stay down like an egg. Be patient and hold. Peace and love. Jennifer Burgin 145 Dunn St. Telephone: 845â€"2293 (Corner of Dunn Randall) OAKVILLE p REHAB J CENTRE Q e While playing tennis yesterday I went e over on my ankle, I put ice on it last night but it is still swollen and sore. I can still walk on it but I am limping. Is there anything else I can do? A e "*" the swelling and throbbing you should continue to be icing with an ice pack for 15 minutes at least 2 times a day. You should also be elevating this foot while you are sittting to keep the swelling out of the injured area. To prevent this from occurring again, simple toe raises on the edge of the stairs 20 times a day, or tying a bungee cord or surgical tubing around both feet just below your toes, and turning your feet out at the ankle, 20 times a day will help. If there is a lot of swelling you may want to go to the doctor for antinflammatories. Finally, if you would like a more structured treatment and strength program a Sports Medicine Specialist can help you recover propâ€" erly and quickly.
