C O M COMMUNITY Back on the 'Kindness Tour' Alex Irish & Associates Photo The Alex Irish & Associates team prepare to cook dinner at Kerr Street Ministries. An Oakville realty firm has once again put its kind ness stamina to the test. Taking the popular Ran dom Acts of Kindness ini tiative a huge step further, Alex Irish & Associates re cently concluded its sec ond annual Kindness Tour - making a different good will gesture for every day throughout February. These acts helped a wide variety of organiza tions in Halton, and be yond. Oakville's Kerr Street Ministries was once again among the Alex Irish's many beneficiaries. Most notably, the entire realty team cooked dinner for 70 financially-chal lenged adults, while a sin gle mom with three small children were outfitted with some much-needed items like bedding, kitchen supplies and clothing. Alex Irish and company kept busy in Burlington, delivering office supplies to Literacy South Halton and pitching in to sort a whopping 1,000 pounds of carrots at Food for Life. Spreading their gener osity beyond regional bor ders, the team donated gently-used purses filled with women's personal items to a little known charity called Purses for Margaret, which donates them to local shelters. In Mississauga, Alex Irish's team helped fill the shelves at the Compass' Food Bank, an outreach centre that's seen a 13-per- cent increase in needy fam ilies using its services. "It was a busy, exhilarat ing and humbling month," said Irish. "Hopefully, our Kindness Tour will inspire others to take a good look at their community and the smaller charities that are often overlooked."
