Aboard an Air Canada flight bound for Walt Dis ney World in Florida on May 2 will be four lucky Oakville youngsters. In partnership with the Rotary Club of Oakville West, Kerr Street Mission (KSM) is sending four chil dren on a "magical dreams take flight" experience, thanks to local benefactor Florence Meats. "They will get to experi ence a special day and get a chance to live, dream and believe in the magic and know how loved they are by this incredible communi ty," commented Heidi Avery, KSM marketing di rector, sponsorships and events. Dreams Take Flight, es tablished in 1992, is a na tional volunteer charitable organization dedicated to providing the trip of a life time to medically, mental ly, physically, socially or emotionally challenged children. Angelica Del Rosario, Michelle Ruiz, both 10, Filip Vukadinovic, 9 and Noel Labado, 11, will join other children from the Toronto area on the spring flight and can't wait to enjoy the roller-coasters when they arrive for a day in the Magic Kingdom. "And I want to thank ev erybody," said Angelica. The children were sur prised with the trip at an early morning breakfast meeting of the Rotary Club Tuesday morning at the Oakville Holiday Inn when za large Mickey Mouse bal loon popped out of a deco rated box. There were smiles all around, even some tears from the adults looking on. "It is incredible to see the community come to gether, and how through partnerships, families in our community can experi ence once in a lifetime op portunities. Kerr Street Mission is committed to building relationships with our community so that each person feels valued while allowing individuals and families to receive help for the present and hope for the future," said Erin McAl lister, KSM manager of pro grams and partnerships. Oakville is an incredible community but also has an incredible need, added McAllister. "Kerr Street Mission provides opportunities for individuals at or in risk of poverty to seek relief and support through a wide range of programs and partnerships from prenatal to seniors." Each month, more than 800 individuals are served at the KSM. Free L u n ch a n d L e a rn Topic: ARE YOU PROTECTED? W hat you n eed to know...
