So with a tap of the Disney fairy‘s wand, poof, just enough to provide the wintery backdrop required. The fairy went a little overboard with the temperatures, however, and there was a lot of huddling in close proximity to heaters, slurpâ€" ing of coffee and hot soup and peeking through balaclavas. There was also head to toe snowgear and hats of all description, some that "ONE OF THE BEST AND MOST POWERFUL FILMS OF THE YEAR," A TRUF STORY FROM THE DIRECTOR mm uks ul DANIEL DAYâ€"LEWIS EMMA THQMPSON IN THE NMME OF THE MRA A COMEDY ABOUT LOVE IN THE ‘90s ROoBIN WILLTAMS S#LLY â€"FFELD Trners RLLNG STUNEMIGAINE MrRsS. Lakeshore Road looked magâ€" nificent; it was like being caught in a festive time warp. The oldâ€" fashioned lampposts were framed with wreaths, Christmas lights adorned the bare boulevard trees and the majestic tree in the Town Square, and a Christmas tree ‘lot‘ was set up in front of Barbarossa Hairstyling. Santa Claus was even there looking as jolly and plump as the eve on which he delivered all those toys. The only thing missing was the star, Tim Allen of Home Improvement fame but he‘ll be back in May or June to complete closeâ€"up shots for The Santa Clause "to give the illusion he was there," said Location Manager, Kim Saltarski. In the meantime hordes of techâ€" nical crew, working into the wee hours of the morning, kept up a constant footâ€"race, lugging heavy cables and hoisting grant lights and cameras high into the crisp night. Others pulled tarpâ€"covered carts full of Christmas gifts and other props, and still others lined up a bevy of extras for rehearsal. Once the carollers â€" chosen from Burlington‘s Sundance Studios â€" were through, the action turned to a street scene filmed just west of the Town Square on the south side of Lakeshore. There was a dad with two sons carrying skates and hockey sticks, two kids choosing a Christmas tree from the Barbarossa lot and dragging it along the sidewalk, a tobogganer jumping out of the path of a car and some happy looking couples greeting friends. cR It was a mammoth effort for mere minutes of film and then it The Oakville Centre‘s partnerâ€" ship with the innovative Toronto Dance Theatre goes beyond resiâ€" Elt B ind ol tudagne d scb e ol l Ee dn in in 1 PC 0 Christmas glitter Wednesday and Taursday nights as Hollywood Pictures swept through town to Elm exterior shots for the family comâ€" DR n ie ie t 2i + edy, The Santa Clause starring Tim Allen. o . o 00 02 qst ind some happy lookmg couples And you slept through the reeting friends. entire event, visions of sugâ€" It was a mammoth effort for arplums inexplicably dancing in nere minutes of film and then it your head, no doubt.
