To celebrate the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, McDonald‘s brings you a winning taste sensation ... Olympic Twist Fries! Spiral cut and lightly battered in a tasty coating of zesty seasoning â€" they‘re a real taste event! So hurry in today, they won‘t last long! An Olympic taste sensationâ€"with a Twist! Sheridan Bruins gunning for national championships ... in basketball ....and volleyball he Sheridan Bruins, who I knocked off Mohawk College 76â€"65 in Hamilton Tuesday night, just keep rolling along in their quest for a national basketball title. And that‘s about all they did in their previous 80â€"79 victory over Lambton College in Sarnia last Friday when they had to overcome a fiveâ€"point deficit at the half. The only thing coach Jim Flack wishes, however, is that they wouldn‘t take so long to get rolling. Again on Tuesday night, the Bruins found themselves trailing in the second half â€" this time by seven points â€" before they manâ€" aged to ignite the afterburners. "They managed to do what they were required to do down the stretch," said Flack. "We did that at the beginning of the year where we would wait until the 10 minute mark of the second half before running away with the game," he noted. He wasn‘t about to chastise his troops who, after all, did ring up the two points, but he conceded that such an approach might not work as well in the fast approaching playâ€" offs. He hopes his team will use the last two regular season games â€" tonight at Niagara College and Tuesday at home (Oakville campus) against Sarnia‘s Lambton College â€" to get back into a fullâ€"game groove. : That‘s:about all the games mean since the Bruins‘ sparkling 11â€"1 record has already assured them a topâ€"two finish in the Ontario college loop‘s eightâ€"team west division and home court advantage in the first playoff game which will.be held at the Oakville campus on Monday, February 28, 7:30 p.m. Sheridan‘s goal is a national championship and that boils down to winning six straight playoff games, summed up Flack. Top scorers in the victory over Mohawk were Wayne Mulgrave and George Frempong with 19 and 17 points, respectively. The latest national rankings had Sheridan in eighth and division rival Humber College in fourth. Nick Rupcich of the Oakvilleâ€"based West Side volleyball team goes up for the slam in tournament action last week at Oakville Trafalgar High School. His midget team had to settle for a bronze medal.
