Jig. ... We‘re not just talking about bulk feed for horses, rabbits, and other farm critters, although Ren says they built the 19â€"yearâ€" old business and will always be an important part of the operation. Recently, Ren sold three tons of flamingo feed to priâ€" vate collectors, and a sizeâ€" able (is there any other kind?) quantity of moose feed to the Metro Zoo. He can also accommodate the feeding needs of Hamas, ostriches, monkeys, emus, and potâ€"bellied pigs. On the domestic front, his suppliers tell him he has one of the largest selections of dog collars and leads in southern Ontario, and several hardâ€"toâ€"find plants for fish tanks. Food for meatâ€"eating fish is also available. For bird fans, Ren stocks a complete line of wild birdâ€" seed, and extensive supplies for caged species. "Now we have it all. For any pet, you can buy food, accessories, toys, treats, shampoos and grooming supâ€" plies, all under one roof." And now, you can also pick out that bird, fish or gerbil tugging at your heartâ€" strings and take it home, along with the necessary supâ€" plies. To facilitate the change, the store has undergone a major renovation, and now features new lighting, floorâ€" ing, shelving, and of course, temporary homes for the new arrivals. "We‘re hoping for big things. A store this size that sells pet foods and pets is unique in Ontario," Ren says, explaining that most stores in the province tend to specialâ€" ize in one area or the other. And after more than two decades in the business, Ren can "talk feed" if you‘re conâ€" cerned about your pet‘s nutriâ€" tional needs. : "And if we don‘t know it, we will find out for you," he says. Customers will be able to talk with the industry experts at the store this weekend. Representatives from proâ€" ducers of cat, dog, fish and bird feed will be on hand during the ‘Grand Reâ€"openâ€" ing‘ of Ren‘s PetsDepot on Sat., March 26. Throughout the weekend, there will be free draws for prizes and giveaways, including Tâ€"shirts and sweatpants from various pet food manufacturers. You‘ll love the many grand opening specials offered this week as well, although low regular prices and expert service have attracted a loyal clientele. "I‘ve always dealt directly with the manufacturers, and we try to pass that savings on to the customer," Ren says. *We have some of the most competitive prices around."
