Oakville West Oakville East 2334 Wyecroft Road, Unit #15 2241 Royal Windsor Dr., Unit #5 (905) 825â€"3524 (905) 842â€"7674 Expelled Reform Party member may be reâ€"instated By BRAD REAUME Special to the Beaver _ fter a wild, chaotic meetâ€" , ing of the Reform Party‘s _ S, Hamiltonâ€"Wentworth ridâ€" ing association last week, Rita Bucher and 14â€"expelled party members are hoping to be reâ€" instated. : "Gordon Shaw â€" of the nationâ€" al executive committee â€" heard the whole story from our perspective," Bucher said. "He said that if the riding could put all this behind them, it would be received well in Calgary (party headquarters) and would bode well for the termination of our expulsions." Bucher, former Reform Party riding president for Oakvilleâ€" Milton, worked in two Hamilton ridings for Reform during last October‘s federal election. She had resigned her position in Oakvilleâ€"Milton due to a disâ€" agreement on the procedure for. replacing a candidate. "Last night‘s meeting was a circus," she said Thursday. ~â€""The police were barring our way, but after about 45 minutes we were let inside. There was thunâ€" derous applause and cheering from about 100 people that were there." Motions from the floor to allow the expelled members to enter were reportedly shouted down during the 45â€"minute delay. Eventually, the doors were opened, according to Bucher, because it was a public meeting. Bucher said the agenda for the meeting â€" held at the Copetown Community Centre â€" did not include a new business section. ‘While those running it tried to stick to the agenda, there were many calls from the floor to disâ€" cuss the expulsions. "My husband saw at least six people tear up their memberships and I saw three myself," she added. "I don‘t know how many people quit the Reform Party last night." Bucher was pleased that the issue was being discussed, but she remained guarded concerning her possible reâ€"instatement. "I guess I‘m jaded when it comes to these things," she said. "I don‘t know how it will go." BODY REPAIRS and/or AIR BRUSHING WITH FLYER ONLY Limit one coupon per visit OFFER EXPIRES 05/31 /94
