(Healthy LifestyTes Coaltion * sponsoring Nov. 4th symposium The Halton Healthy Lifestyles Coalition is hosting a symposium entitled â€" "Building a Consumer Health Information Network in Halton" â€" on Fri. Nov. 4th. Consumer health information is defined as any information that people need to make informed decisions about their health. The workshop would benefit anyone interested in enhancing consumer access to health information in Halton including: policy makers; health, education, and social service organizations; consumer health advocates; and local health professionals. Guest speaker is Dr. Joanne Marshall, associate professor, Faculty of Information Studies, University of Toronto. In addition, the program includes a panel discussing differing roles in addressing consumer health issues, and students from St. Ignatius of Loyola High School have prepared a dramatic presentation. The workshop is from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. followed by a networking lunch. Registration fee (which includes lunch) is $20. It is being held at the Halton Regional Centre, 1151 Bronte Road North, Oakville, in their auditoâ€" rium. The Coalition involved representatives from the Burlington Breast Cancer Support Services, Halton Hills Public Library, Halton Regional Health Department, Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, and the Oakvilleâ€" Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, in the planning of the event.
