- Notes
- This photograph is labelled on the back as Dr. Clarkson Freeman. However, after exchanging e-mails with the author of the 'comment', who is an expert on Commonwealth Militia uniforms, it was decided that the photograph was taken c.1890s on. It is therefore not possible that it is Dr. Clarkson Freeman. It is possibly one of his sons - either William Francis Freeman (1857-1934) or James Frederick (1859-1924). Pictures in the book "The badges and uniforms of the Lorne Scots" shows similar uniforms in the 1880s.
