One thou sand treasure maps complete with keys are available now from your favourite Bronte mer chant. Maps are available at the locations dis playing the skull and cross-bones symbol in the window. On the day of the festival, children with maps will then embark on a hunt where "X" marks the spot to 14 treasure locations. At each treasure box, the child will receive a free toy. Each participant will also have a chance to try their key for additional winnings and each completed map can be entered for a grand prize chance of winning "Black B art's" treasure. Maps will be available on the day of the festi A4 val, where pirate merchandise is being sold. But why wait and risk the chance of your child being disappointed. Maps are available now from any merchant displaying the skull and cross-bones. Maps are only $5 and sales are limited. Children can win other great prizes at the Bicycle/Tricycle contest and parade. Starting at 10 a.m., dressed as pirates, children are invited to enter a decorated tricycle or bicycle. P rior to the judging, participants of the Bicycle/Tricycle contest will jo in the Iron Duke RC (Sea) CC band, lead by commanding officer, Steve Cooper and fellow officers, as well as members of 1812 Royal Newfoundland Regiment House Guard from Battlefield House Museum Stoneycreek, for a parade within the village of Bronte. Prizes will be awarded for best costume and best decorated bike/trike in three age groups: three to five, six to nine, and 10 to 12. This event is being sponsored by the Bronte Chinese Restaurant and Courage to Change Counselling. Entry forms must be sent into the Bronte Chinese Restaurant in advance. If you would like to register your child, call either the Bronte Chinese Restaurant at 905- 827-7073 or the Bronte B.I.A. at 905-825- 3258. Don't miss out on other great events as well. Sponsored by the Oakville Independent Schools, television star, "Dudley the Dragon" will sing and dance his way into the festivities for three shows at the Bronte Legion Hall. Dudley will be joined by the hilarious and tal ented Gerald the Clown. Showtimes are 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. The show lasts for approximately one hour. Tickets are $5 with all proceeds supporting the Halton Centre For Childhood Sexual Abuse.
