Town staff said the bylaw seeks to better control changes that can be made in stable residential neigh bourhoods by providing a scope as to what is consid ered a minor variance. It would also establish criteria that must be con sidered before a minor vari ance could be authorized. The drafting of the by law follows a council re quest for town staff to in vestigate how to better manage redevelopment and replacement housing within residential areas. "Our goal is to only al low changes that do not al ter the character of our neighbourhoods," said Oakville Mayor Rob Bur ton. "It is vitally important our residents and builders participate in this process."The meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. iat town hall. A statutory pub lic meeting will be held as part of the May 14 planning and development council meeting at town hall. The bylaw will then go to coun cil for final approval in June.
