FULL RESULTS IN WEDNESDAY'S BEAVER Photo by Ian Ross Welsh team in town The Oakville Crusaders are hosting another international rugby match. Hot off a recent 27-9 win over Kinsale from Ireland, the Crusaders will host a touring side from Senghenydd, South Wales this Monday (May 24). The game starts at 7 p.m. with reception and festivities to follow in the clubhouse. A lot of rugby fans were on hand for the Irish visitors and the Crusaders again extend an invitation to take in the Welsh side. The club is located on Ninth Line between Upper Middle and Hwy. 5. The Cru side was selected Thursday night based on the week's train ing. LAST WEEKEND The Cm opened their schedule with a bit of a heartbreaker at the home of last year's regular season champions, York Yeoman, losing 27-25 on "a Photo by Peter C. McCusker The Crusaders (black jerseys) recently hosted the Irish club Kinsale and on Monday they host a Welsh side. last second try in the last few moments," said Kevin Brenders, who was forced to watch the game from the sidelines because of injury. He thought his team "dominated in territory and possession the first 50 minutes" of the 80 minute game but unfortunately failed to put them away. Phil Murphy had a couple of tries along with Kurt Pitblado and captain Ryan Morrison. Graham Bridges added a penalty kick and a two point con version. AT NATIONALS A dozen Cm members are in Vancouver this weekend for the North American sevens champi onship in Vancouver. The Cm surprised last year by winning the national bronze medal, which earned them an invitation back this year to the big show. Team members will be back for Monday's game against the visiting Welsh team. The Cm sevens team will be bolstered by Chris Foster who is, unfortunately, unavailable for the Cm this year as he is under contract in Scotland. UPCOMING The Cmsader's first and second team visit the Ajax Wanderers this coming weekend. The following weekend (June 5) they are home to Ottawa Irish.
