On the upside, the CHS says the risk from flood and storm damage has been greatly reduced due to the drop in water levels. There will also be additional clearance for boats this summer under overhead obstructions such as bridges. C a n a d a Road rage at Bronte Road The OPP Burlington Detachment is appealing to any member of the public who may have witnessed an incident on the westbound QEW at Bronte Road on April 28th. At approximately 5 p.m. an elderly couple was stopped in traffic when a man approached their vehicle and began pounding on their car. He also spit on their windshield and yelled obscenities at the couple. As traffic began to move again, the man returned to his vehicle and began making "bodily poses" to traffic. He then got back into his vehicle and quickly drove close to the cou ple and then veered toward their vehicle. Anyone who may have seen this incident is asked to con tact Const. Glenn Harrison at 681-2511. Setting welfare record straight In Friday's story on welfare written by Oakville Liberal can didate Kevin Flynn, the first line of the fifth paragraph should have read: "However, we do not have welfare as a way for employable people to collect taxpayer dollars, because they are not willing to work." In the original piece, the word "not" was dropped. The Oakville Beaver regrets the error.
